| Dodge the drama and become that player everyone wants in their group with the Drama Mamas. We're taking your questions at DramaMamas (at) WoW (dot) com. You don't want to put him on the defensive, no matter how correct you are. Put your foot down. Hold regular raid-leadership meetings with him. Make up a nickname for him when he goes into Hyde-mode, to use for a little good-humored nudge. Try a little humor. This is big (and also difficult). But perhaps some kind of online webcam party would accomplish the same thing. Surely, you've tackled worse problems and perhaps that is part of the problem. If he is armed with a tactic other than verbal abuse going in, he is much more likely to use it. Don't accuse. He needs to know that it undermines your ability to lead if he is butting in with his own form of discipline while you are running the raid. If he thinks of your online playmates as real people, he may start to treat them better. Offer solutions. Not everyone can take even kindly meant mockery. Be careful, however. Try to keep an open mind -- game store if he's being constructive and not just retaliating. You lead, you discipline, and he advises. Discuss each issue that popped up in the last raid with him and offer a different (better) way to handle it. As with your children, a united front is a much more effective way to guide your group. If you and your guildies lived geographically close, I would suggest a non-virtual get-together.. gently. Preface his name with Anti- (like matter and antimatter) or come up with some other affectionate moniker to call him when he begins to throw a tantrum. Sometimes, we don't realize we're being bratty and just need a kind reminder when we stray into bad behavior. Discuss your concerns rationally when he is Jekyll, preferably before your next event. I am confident with the health of your relationship that you can get through this. As a parent, he will probably relate to that analogy. You know your husband best. Be open to criticism..
